(SOLD)C1770 Parisian fauteuil Armchair by Jacques Chenevat
(SOLD)A good Parisian C1770, 18th century Fauteuil in beechwood. The chair is stamped on the back seat rail. Jacques Chenevat became a master menuisier on 6th December 1763, and set up his workshop in the rue de Clery, at the sign on the Gold Cross. He is represented by at least one fauteuil in the Garde Meuble: the Royal Furniture collection.
A particularly fine pair of begere of his sold at the (Orangerie) Chateau de Cheverny in 2012. They formed part of the collection of Rene Clement. These wonderful white painted armchairs brought 27,000 euro.
