American antebellum  Plantation Girandole Candle Stick Set,

C1850, Boston. These one-sided candlesticks and single

candelabrum make an odd set for anyone not familiar

with these distincltly American ornaments. In many

Planatation Houses one will see this arrangement

in front of an overmantle mirror: the candelabrum in

the centre, where non-Americans would expect a clock,

and the two singles at the sides.

Height of the singles 35cm. Rare to have a complete

garniture.
