17th Century Oil on Board “Vision of Ezekiel”, after Raphael
This vibrant oil on panel painting is a 17th century work based on the 1518 Renaissance "Vision of Ezekiel" by Raphael Sanzio. God in his majesty is being held aloft by a contingent of cherubs.The Raphael was in the Uffizi at the end of the 16th century but at the close of the 17th century it was in the Palazzo Pitti in Florence. It is still there, after a short holiday in Paris 1799-1816. I have included a image of the Raphael. Our work is in a modern frame. the painting is 37 by 48 cm. The current frame is 58 cm by 68 cm.
