1853 Imperial Russian Silver Stuffing Spoon by Vendt, Riga
Hallmarked for 84 zolotnik silver (7 875/1000) Riga and 1853, this magnificent stuffing spoon is 30 cm long and weighs 122 grams. The maker's name is stamped in full in script. "P. Vendt." Vendt came from a venerable line of silversmiths. His father was Georg Michael Vendt , who was born in 1781, son of Georg Vendt. Georg Michael became a master in 1805 and died a year after this spoon was made, in 1854.
The spoon is in excellent condition.
