Antique French Pastel of 1780s Lady in Blue

This large , 66 cm by 56 cm, French pastel portrait is probably 19th century. The frames, cruxiform struts on the oval stretchers and other construction details are the same in the late 18th century and the 19th century. 18th century pastels tend to be characterised more by a blue/pink contrast on the faces. So our 1780s ladies may be of the period, but we will be safely conservative and say 19th century.

The lovely pastel of the lady in blue, with a mob cap is quite captivating.
