C1650 Oak and Walnut Draw Leaf Extension Refectory Dining Table

This highly decorative mid-17th century table base, C1650, is oak, and sports three columnar legs each end. The magnificent, rich and mellow, walnut draw leaf top is later. The oak base would have had a plank top originally, long since worn out. The six soberly turned Doric legs demonstrate the Renaissance focus on the Classical world.

The top when closed is 71 cm by 123 cm. Open at both ends the top is 71 cm by 227 cm. The height of the opened table is 72 cm and 75 cm when closed up. We have in stock a set of 6 C1720 French chairs that would go very well with this table.
