C1741 Augsburg Silver Milk Jug (Johann Christian Girschner) and larger Breaslau (?) Coffee Pot

$4,500.00 the Venerable Pair.

Museum quality silver! The smaller Baroque pot, the hot milk jug, is 18 cm tall. It is hallmarked on the base for Augsburg, 1741, with the maker's mark ICG, for Johann Christian Girschner. It weighs 302 grams. The wooden lid finial insulator is chipped.

The larger pot, a coffee pot, is 23 cm tall. It weighs 498 grams. It has tiny marks on the foot rim, an F and 13. I think this is for Breslau (now Wroclaw, Poland) 1746-1758, but the F mark is insufficiently clear to be precise. The 13, of course, is for 13 loehrige, so 800 silver. The lid finial insulator is missing.

Both have the same coat of arms. I have not been able to identify it, but the helm has no cap or coronet, so I assume the bearer was a knight, rather than of any higher nobility. Nevertheless, clearly wealthy.
