C1765 French Transitional Commode, Louis XV period.

A very glamorous Transitional Paris commode! The transition is between the styles of Louis XV(curvilinear)  and Louis XVI (rectilinear), but most Transitional pieces fall in the reign of Louis XV. This small but delicious commode is 83 cm tall, 95 cm wide and 46 cm deep. The conforming marble is original. It comprises a flight of three drawers with a breakfront, which is reflected in the rear legs and styles standing proud of the carcass. The gilt bronze mounts are original, but the locks and keys are modern replacements.

10 other 1700s commodes in stock at present.

N. B. Due to the commode being veneered in several of the Dalbergia woods, three certificates are required to move the commode between any two countries. (C.I.T.E.S.)
