1765 Louis XV period Paris Silver Cruet by Alexis Micalef. He became a master 1756, and in the 1770s moved to Lyon. It is hallmarked for 950 standard silver (a higher standard than Sterling). The cruet has lost its bottles and these are  replacements. The fine Rococo boat shaped silver cruet stand can be taken apart for cleaning. The basket that holds the oil bottle lid is decorated with olive leaves and the vinegar bottle basket is decorated with grapes. There are two cradles for the bottle stoppers. There is an owner's cypher with open coronet. Silver weight: 588 grams.
