C1770 Oil Painting After Boucher: Fishing Putti

This delightful Louis XV period, squarish oil painting is late 18th century C1770, and is 69 cm wide and 64 cm tall. It currently has no frame. The painting has recently been cleaned and varnished. The 18th century canvas has been put on a new stretcher in the late 19th century. The charming painting is of three putti fishing.

This is a theme also explored in the rather grander rectangular painting in the secondary image, which is also after Francois Boucher (29 September 1703 – 30 May 1770), but shows a different composition. Boucher was a great exponent of the Rococo style. We also include a 1741 portrait of Boucher by Lundberg.
