Executed in the neoclassical style, this French Louis XVI style and period ormolu candlestick retains a much of its original gilding. Swags decorate the top of the baluster: an usual embellishment. Well chiselled after its removal from the casting mold, this elegant expression of the Louis XVI style attests to the elegance and grace of the society from which it sprang.
