C1795 George III Sheraton Round Seat Chair

Sheraton chairs with circular "cake tin" seats are comparatively rare, since they are difficult and expensive to make. Strongly influenced by French chairs by Jacob, these chairs have neoclassical tablet backs and usually turned front legs. Reglued, polished up and newly upholstered this sculptural chair is ready for its new home. It features an Edwardian ivorine retailers disc for "G. Rogers of Boscombe: Complete Home Furnishers"! Such retailers often made or commissioned new furnitures and refurbished antique pieces.

82 cm tall, and 50 cm wide and 50 cm deep.
