C1820 Charles X Vieux Paris Porcelain Corbeille Basket

In one of the simplest but most elegant patterns, Anneau d'Or (golden circle!), this early 19th century porcelain basket is 22 cm in diameter and 11 cm tall. The whole is in excellent condition with almost no wear to the gilding. The basket with spiky rim is raised on three lion's paw feet. The crispness and elegance of early 19th century Empire and Restauration period porcelain is alluring, and makes it a great adjunct to the quaint Minimalist spaces preserved from last century to today's richly coloured Maximalist homes. (I have noticed the bookshops are just starting to stock interior design books of recent homes, all rich colours, patterns and filled with fascinating goodies. Given the considerable lead time to produce and market paper based technologies, as opposed to digital media, these Maximalist interiors have already been extant now for a couple of years.)
