C1820 George IVth Regency Mahogany Library Chair

A large and capacious library reading chair, in mahogany, C 1820. The chair glides on its original brass bucket casters. Another brass feature are the ferrules on the side of the arms. One originally held a moveable bookrest, while the other held a moveable platform for a candlestick. These have both vanished. You can see the concept on the rather rustic 18th century corner chair.
