C1820 Georgian Rose Cut Diamond and Garnet Brooch

This Georgian brooch is C1820, of a kind called Giardinetto, or Jardiniere, referring to the plant form of the design. The brooch holds 31 rose cut diamonds. The 1 carat 6 mm diameter almandine garnet is a recent replacement. The brooch is 4 cm wide and 4.5 cm high including the pendant section. The brooch is gold and the stones are all set in silver.
