C1820 Restauration Period Vieux Paris Porcelain Vase

Neoclassical in form, this Old Paris porcelain vase stands 22 cm tall and is 12 cm nose to nose. The continuous Romantic landscape that encircles the vase shows trees and a river, and a half ruined gate, a castle and a few distant houses. The handles feature winged ladies' heads. The low fired gilding on Old Paris is fugitive, so the amount of wear is about average. It comes from the Restauration period, from the restoration of the Bourbon kings. After the Revolution and Napoleon, brothers of the executed Louis XVI came to the throne as Louis XVIII and Charles X.
