C1825 Regency Georgian Derby Cup and Saucer.
This is probably my favourite (hand painted) Derby Pattern. The Bute shape saucer bears an 1806 to 1825 mark. The London shape cup bears the mark for Bloor Derby, 1825 to 1848. Perhaps the cup was ordered as a replacement. Possibly the two pieces have been together only a short time. Whatever the mystery, the fine pieces are a match in pattern and are very smart, as well as being redolent of the years before the founding of Melbourne.
There are several other magnificent hand painted Georgian cups and saucers in the similar price range in stock.
