C1830 Matched Pair of Old Paris (Vieux Paris) Vases, Hand Painted
Two similar vases, not made as a pair. Neoclassical forms of vases decorated with paintings in the new Romantic "Troubadour style" are typical of the Charles X to Louis Philippe period. The obverse paintings show people, and the reverse, architecture. These vases/urns are not designed to hold water and flowers. The condition is excellent. No chips, repairs or cracks. The gilding, normally fugitive on Old Paris, is in great condition. The hand painted scenes are better than average.
20 cm tall, 11.5 cm wide and 9 cm dep.
