C1840 24 pce Bloor Derby Dinner Service for 8, Kings’ Pattern

It is rare to find a useable service of Kings' Pattern plates. Mostly they have been broken up to sell in pairs, due to the popularity of this lavish decoration. A "Japan pattern", the Kings' Pattern uses underglaze cobalt blue, with a red enamel and lots of gilding, a typical Imari colourway. Robert Bloor took over the pottery in 1811 and promoted fine painters and sumptuous Japan pattern decoration. The mark on these Bloor period Derby plates runs from 1825 til 1848.

We have 8 dishes (now called past bowls) , 8 dinner plates, and 8 entree plates. There are a chips to the back of a couple of plates. These are not visible from the top.
