This charming little bronze figurine is mounted on black marble. There is a chip at the back. The bronze is in the form of a boy, casually dressed in a hat, knee breeches, a billowing shirt and a jacket, but bare footed. he leans against a tree stump, and his basket of orchard produce lies on the ground. Including the marble base he stands only 9.5cm tall, and the base is 7 cm by 11 cm. he was probably intended as a paperweight. The texturing of the tree stump is particularly nicely hand tooled.
