C1850 Australian Colonial Cedar Stool

$575.00 Australian Colonial!

It is rare fo us to have post-1835 furniture from anywhere, and particularly Australian Colonial Furniture. However, stools are much rarer that chairs, an it has certainly been known for four genuine chairs to be cut up to make a pair of stools, thus hugely increasing the value!  This stool is a charming red cedar example with good patina to the faded legs and the old, worn-in leather upholstery. Had it been repolished or recovered recently, it would have been vastly less interesting. It stands a useful 47 cm tall, in line with chair height, and the top is 42 cm square. Perfect for the feet after a long day. Practical leather means you don't have to remove your hunting boots.
