C1860 38cm Gran Tour Diana of Gabii
This well detailed 38 cm tall, bronzed speltre statue is a 19th century copy of the Diana of Gabii, which has long been attributed to Praxitiles, 4th century Bc Greek. The ancient marble is in the Louvre, Paris, where it has been since 1820. It has been much admired since its discovery in 1792, and much copied. A typical statue of the Grand Tour school. She looks exactly like a bronze, but is much less costly, while still being a genuine antique work of art.
