C1880 Imperial Russian Silver Sugar Hod or Caddy Spoon $425 by Pavel Ovchinikov, one of the most eminent silversmiths of the gilded age.

This finely shaped classic Russian sugar hod is the standard cut off deep bowl form. It is similar in form to Western caddy spoon. It is Moscow, 1880 and gilded on the interior of the bowl. 84 standard (875/1000) The rest of the silver is pounced: matte finish. The spoon is 10.5 cm long and weighs 28 grams. It is elegant and useful, as well as being rich in historical association.
