C1880 Portrait of a Lady, Oil on Canvas, STYLE of Thomas Cooper GOTCH
$2,950.00 of Society Portrait.
Thomas V Cooper Gotch ((1854-1931) was a prolific artist who settled in the Newlyn artists colony in Cornwall, after studying in Paris, Antwerp and London. He even travelled as far as Australia. The artist adopted a more Pre-Raphaelite stylised approach to painting after a visit to Paris and Florence in 1891-92. This painting is clearly very strongly influenced by the pre-1891 works by Gotch (if not actually by him.) Oil on canvas in a particularly fine gilt wood frame.
60 cm by 50 cm.
