C1880 Royal Copenhagen Hand Painted Coffee Pot
Deliciously hand painted, this Royal Copenhagen coffee pot is in mint condition. It is in the style of the 18th century, but made between 1870 and 1890, as the three wave mark indicates. When the Dowager Queen Juliane Marie founded the Royal Porcelain Factory in 1775, she insisted that the three waves should be the factory's trademark. The waves symbolise Denmark's three most important bodies of water; the Sound, the Great Belt and the Little Belt. The coffee pot is painted with polychrome German style flowers.
18.5 cm tall and 12 cm wide.
