C1900 French Bronze Crucifix in Gilt Louis XVI style Frame

Probably every bed had a crucifix above it in Catholic France. The rectangular frame with arched top is typical. Many of the Christ figures were ivory, carved in Dieppe. This corpus is bronze, with a good brown patina. The frame is 40 cm tall and 27 cm wide. Such a thing is as typical of traditional French style as a Louis XV chair.
