This very splendid pair of lights is by A. Mourier, and each candlestick is signed at the base. Each candlestick can be used as a single light or the three light candle branches can be inserted making it a pair of three light candelabra. Candelabra height: 36 cm. The candlestick height: 24 cm. The candlesticks each have removable bobeche or drip trays, although the build up of silver polish suggests this has been forgotten in recent decades. The pair is of silvered cast bronze and is in excellent condition. Heavy. They are in the best Rococo or Louis XV style and the design might originally have been C1740s. These are late 19th to early 20th century.

Naturally we have a few genuine 18th century pairs of similar candlesticks, but, alas, no candelabra.
