C1900 Solitaire Tea Service by Carl Tielsch, Germany

The solitaire comprises a tray, a cup and saucer, coffee/tea pot, creamer and sucrier. (Such sets with two cups and saucers are called cabaret!) This very high quality German hard paste porcelain set was made about 1900 and is by Carl Tielsch. The mark runs from 1875 til 1909. The 24ct gold gilding is in excellent condition and very bright. Bling!

"Carl Tielsch founded the Altwasser factory in 1845. It swiftly became second largest porcelain factory in Silesia. After twenty years the factory employeed 1,400 employees. Products of the Tielsch factory quickly became known for its high quality and artistic values. Their quality was compared to porcelain manufactures from Berlin or even Meissen."

The tray is 34 cm diameter. The sucrier may have had a lid. Coffee/Teapot is 20 cm tall
