C1903-5 Pair Royal Doulton Slater’s Patent Vases/Candlesticks

$550.00 the useful pair

With the impressed mark for 1902 til 1922, this pair of globular vases presents a narrow neck that seems perfect for candles. Perhaps they were intended to be dual purpose, or it may be a happy accident. Other impressed marks include X6532 (1903-1905) , Doulton Slater's (1886-1914), and an incised something illegible and a B.

Standing 17 cm tall, each vase is 13 cm wide. The bare textured stoneware is enriched with gilding and white and blue flowers with green tendrils. The upper part with cotton reel neck is glazed blue, with a brown lip.
