C1930 Art Deco’ Signed Bronze by August Bischoff (1876-1965)


32 cm tall, this signed Art Deco' bronze is signed. The bronze is after the large statue by Bischoff called the Archer, "der Bogenschutze". After training at the Hanauer Sign Academy from 1891, from 1901 to 1904, Bischoff studied at the Städel Kunstinstitut in Frankfurt, with the sculptor Friedrich Christoph Hausmann.
From 1897 he worked as a sculptor in Frankfurt and Hanau with his own studio and made templates for Hanauer pgold and silver industry. This allowed him study trips to Paris, Rome, Berlin and Dresden. He was a member of the Frankfurt Sculptors Association.
