C1960 Giuseppe Ronzan, Bassano, Italy, Rooster and Hen

$395.00 the feisty couple (some damage)

From an industrious family that worked for and eventually took over the famous Lenci Company, Giuseppe Ronzan ran his ceramics business in le Nove di Bassano del Grappa, the cradle of the Venetian ceramics industry. This gilded and pale aqua hen and rooster were made in the 1960s, and the mark ran from about 1949 to about 1980. It incorporates a facsimile Ronzan signature.

Both hen and rooster have tiny losses to the beaks, and the rooster stands 20 cm tall, fanning out his spectacular tail. There is a small chip to one outer tail feather and one feather has tip has been reglued on the rooster.
