Chippendale Kettle Stand style Mahogany Wine Table

Based on a kettle stand of the late 18th century, C1770, this vintage (1980s?) solid mahogany table is larger than its original inspiration. The top is 40 cm by 36 cm, much larger than a sterling silver kettle or tea urn requires. Apart form this modern size, the table is true to its 18th century antecedents. It even has a pull out slide for resting a teapot. It also features a gallery of undulating profile. The splayed legs and the X stretcher ensure stability for such a deceptively delicate looking thing.
