(SOLD)14th Century Rhenish Gilt Bronze Corpus,

of very angular stylized form, which relates

very closely to a gilt bronze St Gregory in the

Institute of Art, Chicago. There is a fine collection

of similar corpus in the Louvre. 18 cm tall. The

reverse is recessed, and the re is a flow of fire

(mercurial)  gilding to the reverse. Presently in

a new frame and mounted on antique silk velvet.
