Good Fake Russian Icon $100

(SOLD)?? An excellent example of a fake Russian icon from the

last part of the 20th century. The icon of St George is

covered in a silver oklad and measures 7 by 8 1/2 cm,

exclusive of the suspension loop. As with nearly all fakes,

the hallmarks are very clear: Moscow, 1890, 875 silver.

The silver content is true. A charming and effective icon,

although not quite what it appears to the lay person.
