Formed as the Imperial Double Headed Eagle, this military or naval hat badge has a screw-in mechanism for fitting it to the hat. It is hallmarked for St Petersburg, C1880, 84 zoltniki (875/1000) silver. The badge is 55mm tall. The snakes and cup indicate it was for a medical officer.
