Dating from somewhere shortly either side of 1700, the oil painting is 61 cm by 74 cm.  The painting has been marouflaged into a new canvas but the old nails and original support frame (not yet a stretcher) have been retained. Rigid frame supports for canvases pre-dated the stretcher with the shims of wood that allow the whole articulated frame to expand: hence stretcher. New black frame in the 17th century style.
