Mid-20th Century(?) Fine Pair of Hand Painted Porcelain Vases

$325.00 the hand painted pair.

Vaguely in the 18th century style, this pair of decorative porcelain vases is hand painted with scenes of 18th century romantic couples. To reinforce the effect of the 1750s, each vase is bears a fake Sevres mark for 1754. The gilding, which is in excellent condition, is nothing like 18th century gilding, so the intent was clearly not to make a serious fake. They are referencing and celebrating the great Age of Elegance. 26 cm tall and 17 cm wide.  The painting on one is signed Roger and the other Blondel, understandably French surnames. Perhaps they are indeed of French manufacture.
