Pair 1867 Oil Paintings by Adam Barland (1843-1875)


This pair of landscapes in their original gilt frames is by Adam Barland, (1843-1875). We have just and them cleaned, so the signature and date, lower right are m uch more legible. Each frame is 39 cm by 34 cm. The oil paintings are on mahogany panels. The panels have the title, and  "Adam Barland 1867" in cursive script in ink on the back. "Surrey Lane" and "Shepherd Girl, Boy and Flock" .

Adam Barland lived at 11 Southampton St., Fitzroy Sq.,London. and exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1843-1863, the British Institution and the R.B.A.. His exhibits included landscapes of views in England and the Scottish Highlands. Exhibitions: Royal Academy (42),  British Institution (42),  Royal Society of British Artists, Suffolk Street 85).
