Pair C1820 French Empire/Restauration Candlestick Lamps

$1,350.00 the historic pair

Now converted into electric lamps, and recently rewired, this is a splendid pair of French Empire/Restauration period candlesticks. The candlesticks have not been drilled for the wiring so can be returned to being unaltered candlesticks at any moment. The detail and richness of the engine turning is unusual. They also retain their original bobeche, or candle sockets. They date from either the time of the first Emperor Napoleon, or from the return of the Bourbon kings. The Restauration (note spelling) period included Louis XVIII, Charles X and Louis Philippe. It covers 1814 to 1848. Louis XVIII and Charles X were brothers of the murdered Louis XVI.

47 cm tall including shades.
