Pair of Luigi Fabris (1883-1952) Capodimonte Figures sold in Piazza San Marco, Venice.

$650.00 the Venetian Pair

A fine and perfect pair of souvenirs of Venice, this pair of porcelain carnavale revellers is by Luigi Fabris (1883-1952) the famous Italian ceramics sculptor. His work is on display at the National Museum of Cuba, at the Ceramics Museum in Bassano del Grappa, at the Vittoriale degli italiani, and at the Museo delle Maschere in Rome. The male stands 18.5 cm tall. The two figures make a wonderful vignette, as they sit on gilded Rococo chairs, still in their tricorn hats and morettas, (oval masks without a mouth aperture), taking caffe nero.
