(SOLD)Nelson Ethelred Dawson (1859-1941), of Swan House, Chiswick Mall, London, founded The Artificer's Guild in 1901. This wonderful hinged sterling silver Arts and Crafts/Art Nouveau box is enriched with an enamelled rose on the centre of the domed top. Hand made. Represented in Victoria and Albert Museum and British Museum. Exhibited at the Royal Academy. Made the trowel and mallet used by Queen Victoria to lay the foundadtion stone of the V&A Museum: her last public appearance.Made the casket gifted to US President Woodrow Wilson in 1919.
