Vintage Marquetry Circular Table in Late 18th Century Style
Looking very much like a Dutch or French table from about 1770, this beautifully crafted circular table is from the second half of last century. Freshly restored, the mahogany table is lavishly inlaid with elegant florettes, string inlay and with a dent de lion (yes, that is dandelion!), lion's tooth parquetry frieze. The circular top is supported by a shaped apron conjoining four tapered legs.
77cm tall, and 96cm diameter. 1/2 cm raised lip to edge.
Marquetry is inlay that shows pictures or organic shapes. Parquetry shows geometric forms. This not currently at the shop. It is still at the restorer's workshop in Coburg.
