Winter! Vintage Fire Screen. Victorian Needlework “Tapestry”

Now that the days are cold, damp and drizzly, a fire screen is a handy item, even for a gas log fire. You can save yourself from being toasted on one side, while still enjoying the ambient heat. This fire screen is "Between the Wars", 1930s or 1940s. The hand worked needlework picture in it, however, is Victorian, about 1840.

80 cm tall and 66 cm wide. The legs are 25 deep.

I have written "tapestry" to signify it is not a tapestry. Tapestries are pictures woven on a loom, while this is needle stitched onto a plain, pre-existing background fabric. Just so we have everything clear.......
