C1850 Old South Plantation Candlestick Garniture $2500

$2,500.00

This set of three candle lustres, a central two branch candelabrum, and two flanking single candlesticks, shows an arrangement we are not familiar with. This type of set was standard for a number of ante-bellum manufacturers in the not-then-very-United States of America. We are more used to seeing a clock as the central piece. Nearly every plantation mansion in the Old South will have a number of these sets. This splendid pre-civil war (or the War of Northern Aggression, depending on your politics)set was made in Boston in the 1850s.
