Every sculptured marble bust of a lady in 18th century style is always called "Marie Antoinette" no matter how unlike the Queen it looks! This elegant and impressive late 19th century French carved white marble bust is also, clearly, not Marie Antoinette. However, she is certainly appealing, elegant and vivacious. At 70 cm tall, she is about life size. The hair is dressed in the fashion of about 1780. Apparently unsigned. The bust sits on a traditional turned socle. She will need a robust pedestal, table or chest.
